Okay---okay---I was at the show. I didnt want to post to this thread because I prefer lurking on most boards...but after I saw the Jack reference on the "Diamond DLR" site...I thought I'd let everyone know...I....Hugh Brian Asnen....was the recipient of the Jack Daniels shower on New Year's Eve at the HOB. I made this same post at the other board, and if you have anyspecific questions you can ask me----but as far as the show went---not much to say except that I was blown away. I've only seen Dave live 3 other times (Philly '86, Philly '88, NJ '99) and I regretted that small total before this New Years show, and certainly after this show. What could I tell you guys that you don't already know? He's amazing. I feel like I "get" the guy and what he does...and what he stands for. His set was pretty much what I heard he has done recently. I was very happy to hear the six "solo" Dave tunes (CG, JAG, YR, GC, JLP & that S. Miller tune) because when I saw him in Jersey he only played YR. The New Years countdown was pulled off nicely (balloons, champagne, a midget in a diaper) , and I felt blessed to be ringing in the New Year in that fashion. Well, that's all for now. All my best to you all for the New Year----Roth Truly Rules!

            ----Hugh Brian Asnen

No prob, Eliteist. I enjoyed posting...hope tht gave you a half decent idea of what went on there. I didn't take any pics. I'd be surprised if anyone got a camera in there. The HOB rules denounce cameras and they had quite the security check at the door...about one level below the check at the airport.

David Lee Roth, on New Year's Eve, in Hollywood. Does it get any better than that? Unfortunately, the House of Blues has a very strict no camera policy, so it was very difficult to get a camera in and to take these photos. The place was packed, security was tight, and I was behind too many hands and heads to get decent pictures. I admit most of these are not that great, but hopefully they help capture some of the excitement of this unique show.
