Well, there's no doubt who came out of that with shit on them and who came out shining. Hagar and his band were, from everything I saw, absolute dicks throughout the whole thing...Dave, his band, his crew, all seemed very congenial, very generous, never had a bad thing to say about anybody in camp Hagar.

Dave used it as an opportunity to take the Van Halen music to the fans.

Spam used it to talk shit and pose for the media.

I don't give two shits what CNN says. And you know what's funny? Even recently, I heard Roth say that (paraphrasing) "Hagar's great at his own thing, and if you like that, there's none better...he's an interesting character, but we're definately two different people in music and style...the tour was fun, and, all things considered, I'd be happy to do it again."

Now...who wants to guess what Hagar had to say at the end of the tour?

Well, cheers folks...here's to hoping that runaway bus happens to be crossing through the same intersection Spam's walking through tomorrow morning...
    Twistin' by the pool.

Let's see: History teaches us that
      Caesar crossed the Rubicon
Eric the Red made it to the New World
Never invade Russia in the winter OR fight a 2 front war
Altoids are the work of the Devil and
DAVID LEE ROTH IS VAN HALEN.

You know...up until he started slinging shit at Dave, I actually had gained a little respect for Sammy when they agreed to do the tour.

I saw Dave on tour twice that year (once at Music Midtown in Atlanta, and again on the Dave and Sam tour), and it was pretty cool for them to just put things aside to play the musice folks wanted to hear.

I agree that Dave blew Sammy of of the stage, and I was one of the folks who left after Mike Anthony's "guest appearance" with Sammy was over, but it was still really cool to see something that really was all about the music.

Of course, with Atlanta's growing gay population in midntown, Sammy is always going to have an audience here.

If anything in this life is certain, if history has taught us anything, it is that you can kill anyone.

:D LOL, no shit, Van! When I first arrived in Atlanta, I thought I had moved to San Francisco by mistake! How's a Roth Broad to flirt with a fella when he likes the same thing I do (MEN)??

You know, I really didn't like Dave doing this tour. I thought it was a mistake for Dave...image-wise. Number 1, it was Dave pretty much acknowledging that there WAS another line-up of Van Halen. There WAS another singer. And why would he want to do that? Why not let Hagar keep touring with his shitty bar band but not acknowledge a shared history of Van Halen.

It was a big mistake. I wonder if it helped cost Dave his current job.
