As I said in another post, we've been getting nailed at work because of the back to back hurricanes, so Saturday my bud and I attended the 9/11 VH show here at the Office Depot Center.
I really do not feel I need to draw out the significance of this date for most Americans, as within the context of that setting, I'm sure many of you will be as astounded as we in South Florida were to hear Sam Hagar start telling a sarcastic and utterly thoughtless series of jokes about fire fighters, who along with policemen and women lost over 400 brothers and sisters on this date three years ago.
This all started when someone threw a hat to this fool onstage. The cap said "West Palm Fire Rescue" on it. He put it on, then went into a monologue about how firemen sit around all day, watching porn, and only work a few hours a week..."That's not a job, man..." is what the insensitive idiot said.
This was met (rightly) with a well deserved round of booing.
Later, he goes into his dismal "solo" set, announcing he'd picked out some songs "specifically" for this date...and proceeded to play the exact same two songs he's played at EVERY Show on this current tour.
Is it any surprise to any of you that the most warmly greeted tunes at this concert were from the Dave Roth era?
I apologise for the length of this post, yet I simply had to share with you folk how appalled I and many others were at this drooling turd's lack of conscience. I've never really came out and openly bashed the guy before, yet this was simply un-called for.
Thank's to those of you that choose to read this.
