Dave on Aerosmith

I think the first 5 Aerosmith albums were fantastic. After that...not interested.

I used to really hate Aerosmith based on how badly they sold out but I was able to find a way to fight through that and realize that their first 5 albums are among the best rock and roll ever made. So much like with Van Hagar, I call myself an Aerosmith fan but have to qualify it by saying "first five albums" like I have to qualify Van Halen as "Roth-only."

I like Aerosmith through the good, the bad, and Just push Play (fucking awful) because it ws the first band i remember REALLY liking, and as a first favourite band i could have picked worse. Yes, they have been around for a while, but so have AC/DC, and at east Aerosmtih change their sound and their stage act every once in a while.

Still, though, Dave's Right... AGAIN.

"Night in the ruts" or "Right in the nuts" was ok.

VH was alot better IMHO.

That said, what young up & coming band could hand Van Halen (with Davy Baby) their asses in a hat?

Desmond Child is like the fucking Andrew Lloyd Webber of Rock...responsible for some of the crappiest music in history. I hate when bands involve chopshop writers (even though it's usually at the label's insistance)..it's like, write your own shit!

I never could quite grasp what the appeal of Aerosmith was. They seem to be the only band whoring themselves out for another 20+ years from two or three "hit" songs. It's like their music has become the soundtrack for every rusting 1974 Ford Torino on blocks. They have their money, their share of the pussy, and never have to work another day again so why to we have to suffer for their "art"?

Aerosmith would be dead and buried if not for their collaberation with Run DMC in the mid-eighties! Both bands were looking for a break and scored with a remake of Walk This Way. But talk about your sellouts! Aero wrote the fucking book! Or maybe that was KISS??? Either way....

S.Tyler and J.Perry have dissed Dave plenty in the past, so it was a good laugh.

Kinda bizzare for Dave to trash talk Tyler, since it was Tyler who got Dave the Boston Pops gig? Maybe Dave was joking? I dont really like Aerosmith either, but if they made a few phone calls and got me some major pub, I think i might be nicer?

good point. I think most of what Dave says is normally for entertainment value. Well in this case anyways. I dont think he was serious about the Aerosmith comment. he may not like the music, but yeah, the trash talk is more exciting than just saying "I dont like them".
