Alex was secondary to Classic Van Halen's success. Nothing to do with talent or technical ability, Just the way it was.

It's all moot, anyway. Van Halen is all done, and Roth rejoining wouldn't be enough to light a fire under that band's ass.

As far as "Acting like Eddie thinks Dave is cool", do a little reading. Ed's voiced admiration for Roth NUMEROUS times over the years, IN PRINT and on the screen, but he has stuck with Roth being hard to work with...and I've already given you the reason why, so scroll your lazy ass up and read it again since you obviously missed it the first time.

Truthfully, I think most of the reason Ed doesn't always mesh with Dave is because Dave doesn't mesh with Alex and that leaves all three of them at loose ends. Ed's going to take Al's side every time, like any brother would. Family first and values and all that. So, until Alex pulls his head out of his ass, that's the way it is and probably the way it's going to say.

Alex being the big brother is the protector of the younger prodigy. Of course they're going to act as they do, they're brothers. Blood is stronger than anything. Does it justify a lot of the shit that they (for some unknown reason) say & do? Hell no, but it does explain why they keep everything close to the hip.
