Took this photo at the HardRock in Atlanta. What's the deal with this guitar. Does anyone know? Not even the staff knew anything about this.
What is this eddie?

That's what I figured. He probably was asked and the bastard probably reached down in his dumpster and dug this shit up. Then said "here...take that shit away MF!" And ofcourse the HardRock restaurant executives kissed his ass and thanked him."If Eddie & Dave would put asside their egos, Aerosmith would have to give up their tittle of the 'Greatest American Rock Band'"Comment

Thanks for the link. I've seen that before. They told me they used to have a Frankie, but it was taken down? They took me to where it was and I was getting all excited, but unfortunatly, it was gone. Oh well....someday."If Eddie & Dave would put asside their egos, Aerosmith would have to give up their tittle of the 'Greatest American Rock Band'"Comment

BAM. That's it exactly. One of the original prototypes made for EVH by The Talented Mr. Ripley. unfinished, used for studiowork 1983 - 88. OHHH JIMMMAYY!Originally posted by BigDaddyD
That is a Ripley and is a very cool, extremely rare guitar.
"piece o junk he had in his closet" ... probably that, too. oh to visit the attic above 5150 on the Big Rock Howdy Doody Mountain...Comment

Yup. It's a Ripley. Ed had several different kinds of them. The six little knobs allow you to pan each string left or right in the stereo spectrum. Eddie recorded a song called "Ripley" but it never made it on an album. Notice how the model pictured is real simular to the Wolfgang shape. You plug the guitar into two amplifiers. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

I think he used it on some 1984 tracks because there is a magazine that i have where it is about the album and there is a picture with him using itComment

There is also a guitar at the Universal City Hard Rock Cafe that I wish I had taken a picture of. It isn't on the site mentioned above. It isn't in the main area. You have to go outside around the side and into an "annex" that sells merchandise and up on the wall is a striped Eddie guitar that has several different colos, orange and blue if i remember correctly...........Comment
