    Unbiased opinion..

    For starters,
    I had a gathewrig (blame it on my wife)and the hope floats cd comes on.Jesus fookin christ!My buddy who got me into VANHALEN swings into action and puts on a mixed cd of VANHALEN i have..Me wise magic,.cant get this stuff,yankee rose,i swear the party kicked into people hanging out.Its funny that music is nfrom another time like dinosaurs,nobody ruled the earth in a cooler way than VANHALEN.How could you compete with that ,shame Eddie was concerned about growing older..I know im showing my age here buy my local football team that i booster cranks Unchained when the y go on the field its very cool.Being an outsider the ongoing tour which i had a chance to goto is a joke!Ive seen Vanhagar in the past ,last time was balance i fell asleep.I think Ed had his bad hip then they sucked.Its like watchin g beatlemania- the beatles.Ya know i can still remember seeing Dave on his Eatem and smile tour and playing ice cream man,thats what im talking about.Sammy hagar im sure is a fine in dividual but wouldnt you take the job?I still think alex van halen =electric drums=overratewd hes no neil peart.Im a who fan but a huge VANHALEN fan.I can only hope you guys get your tour but frankly Ed is pickeled and alex is in charge.

      I've heard people say Eddie is pickeled, but it's just not true.... He was in great form when I saw them on this tour. He was running all over the sage doing jumps, and ripping solos.... He said many times that he was having a great time, and hoped that we were too.... Personally, I've waited six long years to hear that Van Halen was back in some form or another.... I just want to see Eddie play, he's still one of the best guitarists in the entire world.

          any vids or boots I heard or seen, like Unchained and RWD was fucking aweful... I also heard they only play Its about Time for new stuff. When they play Dave era stuff the crowd goes nuts. Doesn't that say something?

              I saw part of one boot downloaded. It was really terrible. It almost made the old Hagar days look glorious.

              They really are at their lowest now. I've admitted openly before that I saw them in 95 and 98 (the only VH shows I ever got to see, and the last ones I'll ever see unless Dave is singing). And they were actually better with Cherone (though my friends were asking me for days afterwards, what the hell is so good about this Van Halen band you love, then?).

                                      I have to agree. There was a time I thought it would just be great to see Ed play. But I just don't care anymore about him at all. To me, VH reuniting would be great because Dave would have his best back-up band again...but only if they were indeed the best.

                                      I used to love the legacy of Van Halen. I used to even love some of the playing on the other CDs (as much as I hated the singer). But I just don't care about any of them anymore. Still, my whole life growing up, I used to get even into screaming matches with people over which singer rules. My band even once auditioned for guitar players, and the best candidate actually sounded a lot like Eddie (even though we didn't want to sound remotely like the band). Still, he was a great lead player. So, I sat down and asked him a bunch of questions. When he told me he thought the Sammy years were better, I almost threw him out. Still, we picked him, and he lasted three months. Having him tell me that BALANCE was better than 1984 probably biased me beyond belief.

                                              I'm just a fool for the band I guess.... I like Dave, I like Sammy, I even liked Gary.... But I've always been more interested in Eddie's playing than anything else.... That's why the three new songs are such a let down for me, personally.... They are nothing like the two songs they did with Dave on BOV1.

                                                  The new songs with Dave were the best Van Halen songs in 12 years! And they've done nothing very good since.

                                                  The band should break up, IMO.

                                                      Yah, I think the solos on the three new songs suck. Ed is losing his chops and trying to cover it up with tons of overdubs and effects, but it's not fooling anyone.
                                                      -We have enough youth. How about a fountain of "Smart"?

                                                          Indeed, TONGUE-IN-ASS. Mind you, I've only heard that IT'S ABOUT TIME piece of shit two or three times. Once downloaded out of curiousity, once played to a friend of mine to show them how shitty they've become (actually a blind taste test between that and ME WISE MAGIC), and once on the radio.

                                                          The other two I've heard once each. They absolutely suck. Ed really just has no inspiration anymore. And Hagar certainly sucks more than he ever did.

                                                          I just can't imagine how a new album with Dave would be now. Ed seems to have completely lost it...in every way.
