    If Dave Joined The Band...

How would Dave treat any of the stuff post-1984? Would he agree to play even 1-2 songs? While the music pales in comparison, it probably would be a source of contention.

I would think AT THE MOST he would do one or two......None of the cheese ballads of course. I would hope that IF they reunited they would ignore that era completely. It's two totally different bands.

        Hmmm...gooood question, Mister!

Let's see, do you think Ozzy Osbourne would agree to sing "Mob Rules"? Or maybe "Headless Cross"?

Yeah, well, it's about as likely as Roth singing "Poundcake" or "Right Now"...

Actually, "Right Now" might be funny if he ad-libbed the lyrics with "Bowzdy Bowzdy Bop Sitty Bop" and stuff...

About the only things I could even imagine him remotely agreeing to sing would be "Summer Nights" and "Finish What Ya Started"...

But no, as a matter of principle he will not, nor should he.

The public essentially could not care less for the hagar era songs, anyway. The legendary six pack all the way baby.

as much as the sam era songs blow, i think dave could add some personality too them, he could easily make them his own, with the talking interludes and crap, but in all reality he wouldnt sing any of that trash

Even if Diamond Dave sang the Van Hagar lyrics, they'd still sound better with him doing them AND probably spawn a rejuvenated interest in the old Van Fagar albums to boot. Not that I would be interested, just the other people with a previously unknown but newfound interest in Van Hagar much the way we see the reverse and opposite effect occur here on a daily basis:

WHICH IS that of: a Van Hagar fan getting deeper into the VH catalogue and dicovering DLR. Which is grate.. BTW

I still don't know if this will ever happen. But I do think they should ignore that catalog. I suppose they could get Anthony to do a song during his solo (WHY CAN'T THIS BE CRAP or something), but let's face it...nobody that comes there will miss any of those songs. I say the six-pack, plus ME WISE MAGIC and some new songs (if they have an album). I'd also like to hear something like YANKEE ROSE.

It's finished for Hagar. Not only was it successful but they hate each other more than ever. They've all been brought down to Earth and Sammy truly knows that Van Halen was nothing about him. It's all Dave & Ed. And the only thing that band could ever do again is reunite with Dave. If not, Ed's gonna start making solo albums before the cancer or alcoholism finally kills him.

Yeah let Dave sing one of Spammy's love fest songs and let
him throw in a few references to "asses" and totally ruin the song.
Just like Spammy did with Jump..

                      That would be funny.

But in all seriousness, who wants to hear a hagar song when
it would be taking the place of one of the classics ???

Actually I'd love to hear Dave sing some Sammy songs.... He would add a different life to them. But I'd just love to see Dave on stage with VH, regardless of what songs they do.

Like there's any way he could EVER reach the high notes in those songs.

The only songs that i think dave could pull off and these are the ones that i would say come the closest to the classic six pack tunes are as follows. Good enough- Dave would make it even better
love is the source -- has the classic vh boogie to it
judgement day---- attitude that roth could improve
sucker in a 3 piece-- closest van hagar has to panama
finish what you started - has the roth bluesy feel to it
afu all fired up--- roth can add more attitude
human beings kick ass rothinized version
