    I'm Talking Bout The Yankee Rose.

    What do you think DLR means by the Yankee Rose?

    I have seen the video and love the song but I am still not sure what the Yankee Rose is all about.

    If you have an idea or actually know please let me know.

                                                          At the time Dave wrote Yankee Rose, the Statue of Liberty was going thru the major overhaul/refurbishment. It was pretty big news at the time because I believe she was coming up on a notable anniversary.

                                                          Great way to commemorate it for sure. He should have sang that on the 4th with the Boston Pops (or whatever orchestra that was)...

                                                          Actually...if it was the Boston Pops, singing Yankee Rose probably would have gone over like a "Lead Zeppelin".......
                                                          "Honey, my shirt got itself torn up. My shirt tore itself on that stripper's hand, and I need it to be sewed up for the show."
                                                          "No problem, Dave, no problem. Say hello to Fluffy."
