Yankee Rose everytime....comparing these two great songs isn't unfair at all...both brilliantly kick-started the albums they were in and i actually love them both....but i totally disagree with guys that say it's a 'no-contest'..that's stretching it too far...She's My Machine is a high-octane burner too, with a definite CVH flavour to it...Dave's aggressive delivery makes it loads of fun and the band's playing is nothing to sneeze at(at least on this song)..
But Yankee Rose is in a league of its own...Dave sounded so much sharper and stronger then and the superb lyrics and delivery clinch it for me....i never liked Steve Vai's playing too much, and it makes me wonder how Yankee Rose would have panned out had Terry , Mike or John made guitars scream for Dave to wow us all over again with that 20 yr old classic..
Music is like girlfriends to me; I'm constantly amazed at the choices other dudes make----DLR
