Sorry 667 but Ed's admitted several times that he made shit up when people asked him how he got his sound. He's mentioned the boiling the strings was a crock several times.
Now if you want to go scientific on it... go research the tinsel properties of steel, bronze, brass and nickel. Heat any one of those metals to 212 degrees isn't going to change their properties one bit other than warm them a bit.

Yeah ZZ Ed's never said the string boiling was BS. The one thing Ed said that was BS was that Jose Arredondo hot-rodded his amps, he has said he really just wanted to give the guy business.
