You can take the peace and send it packin'.
Time to hammer the neighborhood with both garage doors wide open while some angry speakers spill their guts all over the road.
It's Van Halen time!
First up...

Tattoo really grew on my after a while. In fact, lately I have found myself listening to it more than ever. Really diggin it now. I saw where somebody re-did the video with lots of shots of hot chicks with cool tattoos and I'd say that maybe that made me like it more...Hot chicks make everything better.Comment

It's kinda like Jump was for me when that was first released all those years ago, in that I wasn't necessarily thrilled with the music but the lyrics and vocal delivery were able to overcome my relative lack of enthusiasm for the instrumentation.
Tattoo is a sort of middle-of-the-road, medium-paced tune without a lot of frills. While I thought it was a bit foolish to release it as the single when ADKOT first came out and have it as the lead-off tune of the album, thinking about it NOW it makes perfect sense when considering the rest of the album. Like, if Tattoo had been buried in the middle of the record, it wouldn't really have stood out as much.Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment
