The Official Van Halen, "Blood and Fire" review thread
Sweet! As some have mentioned it stuck me as well of having a Diver Down feel, I still cannot believe I am listening to new VH with Dave....
Diamond Mafia Forever - 4. To restore fullbug to the prominent place in this board, after various serious attacks by hitch1969 have now damaged his reputation and now is reguarded as a "Retarded, Stoned, Canadian, Dog finger bangin' fuckup"
Covered in goosebumps right now after the second listen. So very, very VAN HALEN. This little clip is more Van Halen than anything Van Halen has done since 'House of Pain' faded out at the end of 1984. You listen to this sample of Blood & Fire and you just KNOW that Ed is going to melt your damn face off with his solo. I'm already scheduling an appointment with my plastic surgeon to have my face put back together...

Ok after my Third listen ....This song has a summer feel to it....Ed and Dave sound great....Very different than Tattoo which I like too...The only negative is I fucking hate snippets... Can`t wait for the whole cd to arrive.
I was always a sucker for this riff back in the day. We recorded it off the tv with a boom box back in the day and looped it over and over then drove around with the windows down on a nice afternoon. Adding Dave to it just amps up that schmaltzy magic that they were always able to work with things like simple rhyme, little guitars, etc.
Yep....Line out of the back of the VCR. Funny thing is that movie's not available on DVD today due to music copyright issues.
Every so often it comes on some of the Cinemax HD Channels. My girlfriend surprised me by DVR'ing it one night and I ripped it to DVD. Back in the day I wore the VHS copy of it out.
I like to pay close attention to the things I'll forget later...
