actually it was more of a correction. You stated there were no hits. In fact there were 3.

I also added a bit of backstory to the original 1981 tour plan. But ok.

    Peace.

      HOW?
      easy.

Any albums sales are usualy determined by what preceeded it. What success did Van Hagar have before Balance compared to what success Van Halen had before FW.

WACF was a mixed bag for most Van Halen fans. Synths were introduced and creativly VH was streaming off their VH1 and VH2 path. Fans might have been unsure about FW.

Right Here/Right Now was a pushed hard CD, filled with live cuts of Sam doing some old VH material and fans might have liked the ide that RHRN was the first live cd VH produced.

Or.... There are alot of fucking idiots in the world who THOUGHT (past tense) that Van Hagar was better as it went along. But in fact, the album sales prove differently from 1985 on. 5150 carried success from 1984, but after that it dwindled. #'s dont lie.

Where can you find global sales numbers?

                  That's interesting.

Where are those figures from, I can't find them.

Is there a way of getting full international figures to put the final nail in the Sheep's cofin?

If these sales figures for the Roth-era VH and Van Hagar albums are absolutely authentic, then I can only say that it validates what I have believed all along: Sammy Hagar's compulsive and ludicrous bragging about how his years with the mic saw Van Halen become far more 'commercially' successful than the classic, original DLR-era had been was always as bizarre and flat-out untrue as I have always thought it to be.

Hagar's debut with '5150' must have thrown up a couple of candy-rock big hits on radio that were mostly lapped up by newbie VH fans that had known no better. Besides, Sammy never had it so good before he got onto the VH ship and soon made it 'his' best solo band ever.

I reckon even if these figures aren't entirely accurate, there's no denying that the classic Roth-era catalogue of six stellar albums have not only been forever infinitely more admired and loved but surely sold a whole lot more than Van Hagar's litany of candyfloss records ever did.

its been almost 13 years since RIAA updated sales on FW. I am sure it has doubled just on new fans and old fans buying it again. RIAA is not accurate.

It amazes me how FW is the leaset selling of the real VH albums.
