Just my personal thoughts on this.
1. Mez--I'll throw you a line about the webbie deal. It's not a super big deal, but I think I can add some insight...just don't feel like laying it all out right here.
2. As far as Mez's personality on this site...he's done some things that have pissed me off from back in the day, but we always hashed it out. Normally it was via the webbie forum, or pm's or whatever (again, not often in public), and it was always relatively clear that there were two Mezro's. He pushed buttons...and in all honesty...that's why Sarge made him a webbie (one of the reasons, maybe not the main one, but close). As I've always stated from the start...Chris has always said that we have the keys, do whatever you want. I know that pisses some people off...but whatever...that's the way it's always been here (with whatever keys we were given at the time). So the bottom line is that whenever Mez would piss me off, I'd let him know...game over...and I'd always be reminded that it's the fucking internet, and be done with it. Hell, Mez and I wrote a front page article about Sarge that virtually turned all internet porn traffic to the Army...just to fuck around.
3. Sarge has always been pretty fucking up front about wanting to keep this site going, regardless of Van Halen or Roth. I've essentially told him on several occasions to put her to bed, but he's never been on board with that. Trust me, he's had several opportunities...but he always comes back. Make no mistake about it, he wants this site refit, and has, as has been noted, for two years running....hell...longer than that. Remember, Sarge and the whole crew developed this as a site, not a fucking forum. The Army isn't a tenth of what it was before, and the goal is to get it all back up in some form or fashion. With that said...whatever happens from this point on...Sarge should be the one calling the shots. We've all put god knows how much time and/or money into this site, now we just have to wait for it all to come together. Seriously, when the fuck has the Army been a site to expedite? Seriously...two years is fucking par for the course here...and if you don't know that, you haven't been around for the past ten years. It's not a critique, just a fact of life. Sarge is in the fucking military, and over the past 12 years has been across the United States, Mexico, the Middle East and fucking Europe. We've been in charge of god knows how many other sites, and them pulled, shut down, re-opened, hacked, shut-down again, re-opened, walls, white screens and every other fucking thing you can imagine. Personally, the site could be shit brown with a gunt hanging in the corner, and we'd all still fucking show up. Why? Because it's there. It's the fucking Everest of sites. You either climb it because you love the fucking skills that thrill...or you climb it because you know you might die trying...
It's the biggest and baddest site around...and it's produced the Mark's and Mezro's and POJO's and Va's and Thome's (who is apparently Max) and fresh and EUAS and the Sheep Pen, and god knows how many other sites that have come and gone and come again...
It's been around for the 2000 reunion...er...2002 reunion...er...Sham and Dave (I still can't fucking believe that shit)...er...Shamunion '04...er...Roth-Wolfunication...and here we still are.
When I was first made a webbie here after several of us wreaked havoc at Links for a few months...I was single, driving a two-seat Honda CRX...living in my own house in Cleveland, OH. Now, I'm married, with two kids (both over five), a house with a white picket fence, a job that matters, a caravan and an SUV, two dogs, a cat and a fish. I used to listen to VH and Roth every day...now...I still do...but don't give my wife the dumb-ass Roth fact of the day (no shit...ask her).
The Army, like baseball and the United States, takes a lickin', and keeps on fucking tickin'. Sarge may not be back for TWO MORE FUCKING YEARS...or he may show up tomorrow...either way...the Army is always somewhere in the confines of his mind.
Every time I talk to him...on the phone...on the internets...whatever...he's pumped about this place.
So fuck it all. Mez...Todd...whatever...in all honesty...who the fuck cares about the past...the present...the future. Who the fuck cares who you piss off...and who the fuck cares what keys you had...have...or will have.
The first day on the job here at the Army, Sarge said...here are the keys...have some fucking fun. I know for a fact...he said the same to you. If he made you a webbie, he did it distinctly because he knew you would piss people off...that's the whole fucking point...or part of it.
Most of the folks here have a stake in this place in some form or another, as stewards of this site, and we all take what happens here personally, because this site has a bit of all of us here. When Mez came on board, there were a slew of us who wondered who the fuck you were...and it created a stir. Why? We all have a stake in this place. At the same time...it created a stir. It's not fucking rocket science.
People get pissed off. Why? It's because they give a shit. Hell knows I took myself too fucking seriously here for a long time. Sure, I have some more keys than most, but at the end of the day, we're all here for the same fucking reason. This isn't a place to be serious...or take serious.
AlinChainz was one of my best friends on this site, and every time I talked to him on the phone, the first thing I'd say to him is "Dude, JoeThunder is a piece of shit...LET IT GO!" He'd always say, "I know POJ', I know..." Then ten minutes later...hell...while we were still on the phone...he'd be setting up a fight in Butler, or trying to get a German priest to molest some crazy ass sumbich. At the end of the day...Al was just taking care of the site...and he always had fun doing it...even when he did take it too seriously.
WARF, myself, Mez, Va, FORD, Elvis, Sesh, Von, Sarge, BS1, Icon and everyone who has been here for 10, 5 or two years...hell...all of us have a stake in some form or another...and all of us give a shit...or we wouldn't ever show up. We all see it going one direction or another...
Point being...
Shit will get done, or it won't.
Come to the site...or don't.

Almost brought a tear to my fucking eye POJO. The Army has been quite a ride for all involved. Just a giant fraternity of rockers, freaks, weird motherfuckers, and funny folk. We have got more variety here than a bad buffet. Lots of crazy shit has happened...and I anticipate much more madness and ass kicking badness. People come and people go but the spirit of the proceedings remain the same. And yeah Poj, that article was some funny shit man...good times indeed!

even if some of those threads were still up, by now they'd be full of dead links and people would be bitchin' about that. another forum i frequent has an 800 page thread of pics and probably the first 300 are mostly dead links, and the later pages are dupes.
