What's with the goddamn search function?

So today I go to post an article about O.J. Simpson becoming a suspect in yet another crime.

The story was 54 minutes old off the Associated Press wire, but I do a search on the forums just to make sure.

My first search, using these letters "OJ", returned the following message...

The second search, this time using "O.J." only returned 8 threads, two of which had "O.J." in the thread title...but were not in any way related to the thread I was posting.

So I go ahead and post it up.

Only to find another poster had the same thread. And he posted just "OJ" in the title, which according to my first search result, was not enough characters to return a "search hit!!"
