I agree for the most part everyone bashes and gets bashed equally regardless of implied/assumed gender.

If the female posters stay fairly nonconfrontational they are treated decent. But, I have noticed a certain amount of piling on by a certain group though when females go toe-to-toe "mixing it up with the boys". Sometimes deserved... sometimes not and it's left me scratching my head wondering what's that all about.

Who? I've observed it occur over the years. Angel, Sensible Shoes, Elitest, Chelle, Switch, Susie-Q, Ally, etc... come to mind for being the target of crap that appears to be gender motivated rather than posting content motivated. Also seems more prevalent on the Dave boards but have also seen a bit of it even at Links.

Maybe it's more a reflection of society and how women are treated in general... I don't know. Seems this facet of the net is fairly male dominated so that naturally includes the higher percentage of jackasses...

Speaking of jackasses... Fab & Katydid don't qualify into this mix. They're just uber-freaks in cyberspace and probably very scary, troubled people in real life.
