Don't take it personally. There were dozens in some vain, silly effort to speed things up when the old software was crashing prior to the site being taken down...

If I go back to the account authentication email, it signs me in and lets me stay. I'll use that until I have the patience to troubleshoot it on my laptop.

It still sounds like a problem with the cookies being accepted. As I said earlier, it isn't that difficult to double check. Otherwise, try bookmarking the page the email sends you to. This will save you needing to open your email account in order to log on to the site.

Thanks! I'm sure it's not hard to troubleshoot - but I am still trying to untangle 2 other major problems on this laptop - like "installer" doesn't work and I can't add any software - how nuts is that? And the touchpad is very screwed up on this Dell model - people are bitching all over the internet about it. There's also another chronic problem with the socalled "E recovery drive" being full and not backing anything up - which puts up an extremely annoying message about 10 times a day. And I just hate talking to people I can't understand on the phone trying to solve this shit.

I understand that NOW. But it's very hard to do research on a computer when your PC has crashed and you need the damned thing to work. Very often, I try to look this stuff up on the internet to get reviews of stuff and it's like reading greek. So are the fixes. who the hell knows, maybe I'll go back to school for computers and solve all my own problems.

Shit...I used to be a lot higher than "Veteran" before the site went down last time for it's "extended hiatus."

But I know they purged a lot of shit out when it came back and I got knocked back to "Veteran" status again.
