And the whole emoticon thing has gotten out of hand. I mean are we so lazy that we can't type fuck you? I can type fuck you 60 times in the time it takes to load that pop up and find the appropriate smiley.

Anyway the whole purpose of the emoticon was to express an emotion that the recipient cannot see such as a smile or frown or if you are laughing. Not to be able to replace type with a little picture.
