Blood And Fire actually goes all the way back to 1985. The original instrumental version was part of the "Wild Life" soundtrack, and was then known as "Ripley". It may have well been on the 7th Van Halen album in 1986, had the band stayed together then.

Yeah, the drummer put in a real drum track as opposed to the dorky synth one on the demo, but everything else sounds pretty much the same, spare some apparent Pro tools edits. Who knows, you could do just about anything in the studio these days, and as for the vocals, they could have been sped up or slowed down one way or another, even if they were recorded recently.
There simply is no way of knowing what is what today with production today. If it were so, about 98 % of these jugheads making hit records over the past decade would be moving shopping carts at Winn Dixie, rather than Tweeting about how special they are.
