It's why I stopped posting at VHLinks where closed threads were a tradition.

I found it incredibly annoying to sit reading something and come up with a thing I wanted to say and then be denied.

Even weaker is where the staff of a site use it to 'win' arguments by having the last word. I let the OP post and then closed it here for a bit. One problem is that now people are posting from phones. On the tapatalk if you are a supermod or webmaster a locked thread looks the exact same and if you post you get no message, the only difference is a tiny locked symbol in the corner.
