I'd have to agree with Elvis, or at least I would say that Diver Down and ADKOT are, song-for-song, equally as good.
1) Where Have All The Good Times Gone? - filler, at best
2) Hang 'Em High - Classic
3) Cathedral/Secrets - Classic
4) Intruder/Pretty Woman - decent-to-good
5) Dancing In The Streets - meh
6) Little Guitars (intro)/Little Guitars - Classic
7) Big Bad Bill Is Sweet William Now - personally, I enjoy the track
but more as a novelty than as anything representing the best of
CVH
8) The Full Bug - Classic
9) Happy Trails - worked great as a live sing-a-long at the end of
shows, but I can't remember the last time I even wanted to listen
to it on record, thus this too is filler.Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment

Diver has always been my least fav 6 pack album ... I could never get away with dancing in the street , tho I concede it was better live. And the kinks cover was always a bit take it or leave it for me.
Where as 1984 has all class tracks and even put up with Jump as its only in later years did I tire of it a little.
I think some of the better tracks on ADKOT match up with some stuff perhaps , but ADKOT doesnt have a hot for teacher , panama or a full bug hang em high moment...saying that when the mood takes me blood and fire hits the spot.
For me any way ...
No disgrace its still a fantastic cd . But the bar was set pretty high by the 6 albums before it.
Its tough comparing them , feels wrong saying one is better than the other.fuck your fucking framingComment

All this Devil is going to say on the subject is that ADKOT sounds Most Unholy in my Lamborghini Diablo when I'm drving fast down Interstate 666.

I always hated the lyrics to this tune. Jumpin' in the streets? Kickin' off our shoes? Huh?
Hey Fourth, my cd copy of the WB demos, which has your avatar as the cover, is poor quality compared to the Fire Starter ones on You Tube. So glad that somebody put those out there. To me, those recordings are the true VH Zero. That Simmons demo irks me, even though the quality is high. You can just tell that the young band was in no position to say no to any of Gene's arrangement and production recommendations.Comment

To be fair we didn't need to wait 5 years for Diver Down.
I think if you can take a step back from the memories and context, ELVIS is right ADKOT is better than those two.Comment

Yup. ADKOT is the perfect follow up to FW."Ya know what they say about angels... An angel is a supernatural being or spirit, usually humanoid in form, found in various religions and mythologies. Plus Roth fan boards..."- ZahZoo April 2013Comment
