Yeah, I think I made the disclaimer early on that I always
back the Blues. However this is not a total wsated selection,
the Blues always put in a good show after a thumping.
And with Fevola back, (hopefully Stevens) you just
never know...

Obviously the Cats deserve to be the faves, but it
could be interesting... GO BLUES...

If they can contain the cats for 3/4, then its
game on !!

Well, the BLUES are officiallly fucked for this year, even with Fevola
kicking a bag of goals, the cats were way too good. Even if we sneak
into the eight, no way it will go anywhere...

I dont normally bitch, I usually cop it on the chin, but to follow our
theme of poor umpiring. Did anyone watch this game ? In the
second quarter, after conceding an 8-1 goal head start, we actually
managed to kick one. There was some minor jostling on the goal
line, and the fucking umpire disallows the goal ????????

We were actually gaining momentum at this point and would have
gone into halftime within two kicks of Geelong..
The replay of the incident showed there was nothing in it.
To have a genuine goal taken from you when you are busting
your guts to catch up, fucking sucks..

Not saying it would have changed the end result at all, but I would
have preferred going into the third quarter only 12 points down...

Thats my beef.. Apart from that, to me this game showed the vast
gap between my team and the real top four contenders. A bit
of a reality check really.... Ah well, I guess you have to wear it
when you are rebuilding a young team..

Going to be a wierd final series without Carlton, Essendon or Collingwood....

Yes Panamark I saw the incident. Just ridiculous. All the Carlton player did was put his hand on the guys back. There was no push.

As far as Carlton are concerned I think The AFL got it all wrong with the punishment over the salary cap cheating. All the AFL has achieved is to turn one of the competitions great clubs, probably THE most glamorous club, into a club that simply can't compete for a flag for what, 5, 6, 7 or 8 years? What's that done for the comp? They should have penalised them points and given them a huge fine and gone after the individuals who were responsible.

All they've done is create a huge TURN-OFF for neutrals.

That Goal reversal sucked bigtime. I know how Bomber felt with
that 50m penalty for sledging.. When isnt there jostling on the
goal line when somebody shoots for goal ?? WTF ??

I think Carlton is in its fourth year after those penalties.
I dont condone what they did, but they were definately
hit the hardest by the AFL, you have the likes of Essendon
who have been caught out repeatedly, but Carlton was
made an example of.

The biggest joke is that Brisbane, who dominated for so
long, were allowed to operate with the salaries that
Essendon, Carlton, Melbourne etc were busted for..

I have no doubts Carlton will be back. They are doing
all the right things now. I think its obvious what the
team needs, and I think one more year of recruiting
will complete the plan..
