I like death metal, but, usually ONLY if it is Åkerfeldt. I like his growl-style... I don't like Chris Barnes-type trash.

    Now?

Opeth - Still Life (I think I found my new favorite record to join the ranks -- or replace -- Rust in Peace for now.

'cause it's their most technically demanding album?
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

According to Alexi, he didn't like it because he was imitating Yngwie Malmsteen on it

Well, that's quite a surprise. Especially coming from the guy who said they were the complete joke of Gigantour and ya couldn't wait for Megadeth to blow them away. You've really changed. I just don't like Lamb of God because a lot of their songs sound the same, they get overhyped so much it's stupid, and they don't solo. I'll stick with Euro-metal

I quite enjoy Lamb of God, it's pretty damn intense and angry. It's great music in short bursts, but they only have a handful of instantly recognizable songs

But I've got to agree that a lot of their stuff sounds the same, and they would be far more dynamic if they moved away from the cookie-monsters, which makes them a tad one-dimensional.

They are great at what they do, and Sacrament was a great record, but they'll never surprise me, they'll never grow.

And Meshuggah have been doing that type of music WAY better for years.

As far as I'm concerned, they're the most important of the newer breed of bands.

They're taking metal to new places.

Like Opeth, you have to give the music time to appreciate its depth.

Try the albums "leviathon" and "Remission"
