I read an interview with Blackmore recently in Record Collector magazine and Ritchie is well up for a MKII re-union. He came across as quite a nice bloke actually.

It was a special Deep Purple issue, only a few months ago

Led Zep and Deep Purple had this "arms race" going as to who could be the coolest rockstars and spend the most money. From accounts, Deep Purple didn't have a dime left from their classic days together.

The good part about RB doing all that Celtic music stuff is at least the guy hasn't stopped playing a guitar, like many of the past do.

PS: Blackmore and the boys did a lot of wild stuff in their day, but nothing beats the infamous Led Zep mud fish story, with that chick, that Carmine Appice and others tell. Wuoooo

Received this totally killer live concert gig when Blackmore rejoined DP.
The guy is just unbelievable/on fire cranking out the "best of" DP's material. I think it's one of the best I have ever seen the guy play.

Great quality A+ pro-shot video, but I have no idea the venue or the date. Will have to do some research on this gem. The video is huge, but thought for now, I could clip out some of the awesome Blackmore moments and post it in the DP thread in the Bootleg Corner.

The nice thing about good quality videos, they don't lie, like EVH and other bums.

Smoke has gone down and vanished on the Lake, but Purple is still burning like hell.
Morse (means "walrus" in French, arf! arf!) is great on his own music, I think. But if Blackmore is out for good, then why not him on guitar?
They come to play in Switzerland now and then. They played the... Montreux Festival last summer! A Purple fan great pal of mine who's interviewed them 3 or 4 times was there, told me it was tremendous. Yep! Around $100 per ticket, no way for me, I'm not crazy for DP bits and pieces...

I first bought "Perfect Strangers", which I still love listening. Then I bought everything made by "mark II". Don't wanna hear about Coverdale or Dio, except under their own names, but then I've got none of their records.

"Bananas" is simply grotesque, I think.

I think the 'Burn' album is as good as anything Purple have ever done. I do think it is unfair the way people refuse to listen to something because of a slight line up change.

BLACK SABBATH'S 'Heaven + Hell' (Dio's 1st) is one of my favourite Sabbath album.

YES' 'Drama' (the one with BUGGLES) is a strong enough album.

'Emerson Lake And Powell' (ELP with Cozy) isn't as bad as the critics say.

VAN HALEN's '5150'...no actually, you're right about that one.

My point is that good music is good music. The only thing I object to is when they call themselves Black Sabbath/Yes/Van Halen/Deep Purple when a key member leaves. I wouldn't mind if it was just the drmmer, because they ain't that important for musical imput (sorry, drummers). I mean, how can you be called Yes when Jon Anderson isn't doing the singing?
                                Fast & Bulbous, Got Me?
