      Larry Carlton is defintely underrated. He's got great taste and 'Kid Charlemagne' is one of the best solos I've ever heard.

        In all seriousness, Hoey IS very underrated... I think Vai is as well, in the MAINSTREAM I'm saying... All things considered, the same really goes for Satriani and even Steve Morse, etc. as far as mainstream recognition goes.

        Without Dave shinning the big spotlight and putting Ed over, so-to-speak, he would have wound up much more like the aforementioned "guitar gods" in the general publics eyes (as in virtually unheard of).

          What do you think of Skunk Baxter? He influenced a lot of guys, too. Eddie being one...
