Hey that's cool, even more exposure.
Now when that tour ends his band had better have been writing tunes so they can record and maximize that exposure and turn it into sales of their own stuff.
Getting a contract with a label should not be a problem for them anymore, but time will be of the essence.

Kelly Clarkson has done much better than i thought she would, and i could swear i saw her on the tube recently with a live band and a harder edge to her show than normal.
Though her butt was a tad too big for the spandexy stuff she was sportin, lol.

The American Idol contract is only for three months...which is how long the actual tour is...

All the performers sign that deal...including the winner...

whichever record label you sign for has nothing to do with AI...

so he'll perform on that tour...then go off on his own.

I'm thinking the tour will end in August...or early September...

Didn't really work for Clay. He was stuck in the AI contract and barely made a nickle off of his album. He had to hire a lawyer to get out of AI's grasp. Since then, he hasn't done shit and his hair has never looked quite as good...

Yeah, she was on SNL last week. Not hard rock by any means, but definitely actual musicians and she was actually singing (unlike Titney or the Simpson twits), so that get's my respect, even if it's not my type of music.

Sort of like the Debbie Gibson vs Tiffany battle in the 80's. They both sang crap. But at least Debbie wrote her own crap.

NEW YORK (AP) — Mario Vazquez is no longer contending for the American Idol crown, but he's following in the footsteps of one of its most famous alumnus — Clay Aiken.

Vazquez is hoping Jess L. Rosen can help him escape from the ironclad Idol contract.

Vazquez has hired Aiken's lawyer, Jess L. Rosen — the man who sprung Aiken from the contract binding him to the 19 Entertainment, the management company owned by American Idol creator Simon Fuller.

19 Entertainment oversees not just the recording deal for American Idol stars, but also merchandising, touring, sponsorship and movie deals. The Idol contracts are considering among the more restrictive in the industry.

Aiken is now managed by leading management group The Firm.

Neither Vazquez nor Rosen was available for comment Thursday, according to Vazquez's publicist, Matt Shelton. But Shelton did tell The Associated Press that Vazquez hired Rosen before he quit American Idol last Sunday.

Vazquez, a 27-year-old New York City native, stunned Idol watchers when he bolted from the show last week for reasons he would only describe as "personal." A fan favorite, he was considered a top contender for the show's crown.
