uhm...Riff = I'm hooked on ALAE so I'd say Drop In The Bucket.
Solo = Ice Cream Man.. or the solo in Hollow Years in the Budokan DVD.
"With a rate of fire of over 20 rounds per second, the IMI Micro Uzi is almost as fast as Yngwie Malmsteen, and 25.4 times more musical"

    Worst of all... It's true..

      riff = UFO's "Rock Bottom"
solo = Thin Lizzy's "Cowboy Song"
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

        The Cowboy Song,

I havent heard that in years, great song !

I am just a cowboy lonesome on the trail
A starry night, a campfire light
The coyote call, the howling winds wail
So I ride out to the old sundown

I am just a cowboy lonesome on the trail
Lord, I’m just thinking about a certain female
The nights we spent together riding on the range
Looking back it seems so strange

Roll me over and turn me around
Let me keep spinning till I hit the ground
Roll me over and let me go
        Running free with the buffalo

I was took in texas I did not know her name
Lord, all these southern girls seem the same
Down below the border in a town in mexico
I got my job busting broncs for the rodeo

Roll me over and turn me around
Let me keep spinning till I hit the ground
Roll me over and let me go
        Riding in the rodeo

Roll me over and set me free
The cowboy’s life is the life for me

            Indeed...

You know, for some reason, I've been playing that over and over during the last two weeks... Propably due to my impromptu pickup change: Tokai's stock bridge p'up made way for a Gibson "Super Ceramic" 500T. The sound's dead on...

The best/most underrated solo ever is by David Gilmour-Comfortably Numb.

Not cool I guess but Vito Bratta's solo on Wait is outstanding.

SOLO: Keef - Sympathy For the Devil and Neil Young's "Welfare Mothers".

Not at all technically brilliant, but you'll remmeber them and recognize them for fucking ever.

George Harrison's solo on "Something" is damn sweet, too.

And anything that Jeff Beck or Richard Thompson touches is consistently brilliant.

Ever hear Jeff Beck's solo on a Jagger solo tune called "Throwaway"? One of the BEST.

Oh, and Page's "Black Dog" solo is killer.

                          Pink Floyd are just fantastic.

I love it on the P.U.L.S.E video when he does that solo and the incredibley large mirror ball appears above the crowd. It's huge, bigger than the average human. Bigger than Hagar's ego (actually, that's probably an exaggeration).

That might just be my favourite Floyd song.

                            An underated solo?!

yeah right, it's always in the Top 5 solos on them polls.

The solo rules! Full of emotion and majesty.
