"Trial By Fire" I think proved that the classic line-up of a band can still do it in the studio after a 10 year hiatus - it's a shame Eddie The Bozo couldn't have done the same this year by getting Dave back on board.
True, but once you threw Jonathan Cain into the mix & gave him a pen, it turned to sapsville.

Gregg Rolie kept them true to their bluesy roots.

And you can't knock Schon....the guy wails.

"No problem, Dave, no problem. Say hello to Fluffy."
    "Fuck you, Fluffy."
"No, no, you're going to upset Fluffy."
"I ain't saying hello to no stuffed bear."
"You know, now that I think about it, it's going to take a little longer to sew up that shirt than I was thinking."
    "Hi Fluffy, how you been?"
"Now that I'm thinking of it even more, it's going to take half the time, Double D, Diamond Dave! Would you hold Fluffy?"
    "N--- yeah."

I bet "guwapo_rocker" doesn't rate Rush or Saga either even though they are the best bands ever to originate from Canada.

There's certainly a lot of "friendly fire" in this army so don't forget:

Hagar fans are the mutineers in this brigade!
      SAGA!!!

There you go dude....I actually just heard "On the Loose" on the radio the other day...

Steve Augeri actually does one HELL of a job stepping in for Steve Perry. In this case, you should actually give THIS replacement singer a chance! He used to be in an 80's hard rock band called Tall Stories that was pretty good.

I get frustrated though from bands switching singers in general, as well as some other musicians. How many different musicians have to be in the band before everyone admits they're just a cover band? cough cough Kiss cough cough!
