Deer hunting is controlled and regulated by the department of fish and game to control their population.
If this wasn't done they would die of starvation due to human encroachment in their natural habitat .
I personally do not hunt because I love animals and feel bad when I accidentally hit them with my car or truck.
I do fish but I release any thing I am not going to eat .

Well for once we partially agree. Except:
Hunting for sport is torture to animals. It is not necessary. Human beings are the only species who get off by killing wantonly.
And the only reason hunting may be perceived as culling the population due to lack of predators is becasue humans have killed the predators. It is not a valid excuse to say we should kill animals because there are no more predators left. We need to stop killing the predators.
And most importantly: Sport hunting targets the healthiest animals, whereas natural predation mostly results in older or infirm animals being the prey, thereby strengthening the species. Human predation weakens the species.
Sport hunting is bullshit, and anyone doing it is torturing animals.
