With another one of these tapes surfacing I have to ask the question.. What about his privacy? Seems like this broad is setting him up (taping-wise) for these rants and then releasing them to the pubic. Taping someone without their knowledge is illegal in the US and I imagine elsewhere also. He's a dumbass for sure to be sucked in never mind what it looks like, but how many here have fought with a girlfriend/wife and said the worst shit they could in the heat of the fight to get the most reaction they could?? Despicable as his words are - and I am not condoning them - we have to remember the context. Arguments with loved ones and people we perceive to have betrayed us stimulate real bile, and often things are said that a person does not really mean (in order to hurt) and would not say in a more rational mood.

I imagine if the arguments someone had with their wife before a divorce were aired down the line, they'd be embarrassed at what they'd said...

It is not illegal to tape someone without their knowledge in the US.

Twelve states require, under most circumstances, the consent of all parties to a conversation. Those jurisdictions are California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Washington. The other 38 states only require the consent of one person of the two to tape a phone conversation. It is against Federal law and most states to record a conversation which you are not involved in, and it is also against Federal law to publicly release recordings made illegally.
