I learned about a decade ago it is not so much money but quality of life. I was a stock broker doing well in the good times and hated every minute of it. Money makes you more comfortable but you spend most your waking hours at work and if that sours your life on a constant basis it's just not worth it. I'm a big believer in chasing what you want to do, make the sacrifices and your life will be happier. Too many people just have no vision early on in life and just kind of go with the flow and most get stuck in a place they hate because they never took the time to search themselves and ask what do I really want to do with my life? As I have gotten older I have noticed the happiest people did what they liked doing when they were younger. They know what they are. Most people have no clue and think it's someone else's job to figure it out for them.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

Yeah I saw you got heat for singing... we're all actors and entertainers to some degree.

Most don't realize it but every day you get up and go to work... your acting. I've played many staring and supporting roles over the years... cook, machine operator, production control analyst, programmer, business analyst, project manager, manager, program manager... all just roles in the play of life. None of which are who I really am... musician, dad, husband, audio engineer, kite flyer, beer drinker, hell raiser, and... Zahzoo on the music boards...

Just pay attention to which stage you are on... you'll be fine.

Shit, when I was in the Marine Corps, I was encouraged to sing =VH=! Especially when we all got drunk for field day and I was able to get everybody to sing Panama. People even bought drinks for me after I sang some =VH= for karaoke.
