That is an awesome ending to that episode. It is right up there with the ending of the movie Cop with James Woods. Most of the time in movies and tv the good guy would toss him a gun and let him reach for it or some other type of contrived horseshit. Thomas looked him in the eye and took care of business, just like you would do it in real life. Great stuff.

We watched a lot of Magnum and Rockford with our son. He used to always say that he was going to be a PI when he grew up.
He got his PI license when he was 18. Didn't take him long to realize it wasn't like the shows, lol. Most of his work was doing surveillance for insurance companies. Put on a bunch of weight sitting in his car for 12 - 16 hrs a day eating junk food and pissing in jars. He's still licensed, but he's not doing any work in the field anymore.

That may be, but that could also Tom Selleck rationalizing one of the stupidest career decisions ever. But as they say, hindsight is 20/20...
Ever the fucking contrarian. When someone doesn't provide a link, you heckle them, but even when they do you find some way to disagree with it and prove you are right by trying to explain what Tom Selleck was thinking.
