Here ya go. This film revolves around four guys that, one way or another, have to hide out from either society, the law or the mob. They end up in a Nicaraguan village, with little if anything to do. An oil production site catches on fire, and the only way to extinguish it is with dynamite. The pisser being, the dynamite is ancient and has turned into nitro, which will explode if you happen to breathe on it. Oh, and it's like 400 miles away, in the middle of a jungle with no roads to or from.
These bastards have to build trucks, venture into a rainforest and bring the shit out. With a soundtrack by Tangerine Dream, it is the ultimate movie for getting stoned as a caveman on a weekend evening with a load of Tostito's scoops and salsa. One of my top 5 favorites of all time. The following image comes from the soundtrack album's cover. Made in 1977, this is a somewhat obscure film, but well worth seeking out. Pardon the pun, but it is dynamite.
By the way, the film's title is from one of the names painted on the trucks. And yes, it's a remake of The Wages of Fear. Whatever, as this take is better and far, far cooler.
