I don't agree with this. The Internet is simply another means of communication. When Martyn Bryant (Tasmanian mass murderer - was the biggest firearms mass murderer until Brehvik came along) loaded up with guns and ammo that day he (becuase he lived) related the story that if someone was nice to him or smiled at him he wouldn't have done it.

This is a load of self justification and mostly just shit talk. The person who kills themselves, or another, or both goes through a number of stages prior to resorting to death, these stages are where families and friends in the perfect world pick it up and ask "are you okay".

But it doesn't happen, and we have always been surrounded by gossip and rumours, slights and innuendo. Suicide is given another stage with the web, but I can in my lifestume remember dudes who killed themselves with 2 tape reocrdeds, one to listen to their last best album, the other to record their death message; circa 1988 when I first started dealing with it.

The suicidal person is always going to have the un-smiler, nasty driver, Internet bully as the event trigger, but to suggest that this underlying cause is the major one then you are deluding yourselves.

I am starting to think that banning people might be the best alternative. I hate to say that because I have always been against bannings, but why should a few retards ruin the board for the thousands of other members who actually have content to post? This is really ridiculous. I say weed out the fucking retards who have nothing to post but stupid shit to cause fights and ban them. I was banned myself at three other message boards this weekend for saying far less stupid shit that I have seen spewed over here, and believe me I have written some fucked up things this weekend.

That's a slippery slope... once you get a taste of a clean and harmonious board you'll find you can never do enough cleaning. But then everything becomes pretty bland and boring.
