Turns out, just one alcoholic drink could make you feel warmer, but it actually lowers your core body temperature.
How does alcohol employ this rule of opposites? Alcohol may make your skin feel warm, but this apparent heat wave is deceptive. A nip or two actually causes your blood vessels to dilate, moving warm blood closer to the surface of your skin, making you feel warmer temporarily. At the same time, however, those same veins pumping blood closer to the skin's surface cause you to lose core body heat - the heat you need to survive, especially if you're stuck in a snowdrift . This effect could lead to fatal hypothermia.Comment

Another one of those classic genius posts, sure to generate responses. You log on the next day to see what your witty gem has produced to find no one gets it and 2 knotheads want to stick their dicks in it... Well played, sir!!Comment

Well, that's easy for you to say. It's not very likely you're gonna wind up stuck in a snow drift down there in hell. Up here we'll take what we can get when we're stuck in a ditch. Or when we don't feel like shoveling snow. Or when me and Warf wake up at 2 in the morning and decide to run wild. Ok, so mostly just when we come to at 2 am.American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.

In movies etc they were always shown with little barrels of brandy but it was actually a myth although they were used as rescue dogs in Switzerland.
