Originally posted by kamaboko the sammy bashing is getting pretty fucking old. at least sammy gets his ass out there and plays music. ed sits on his ass, drinks, and contemplates more lies.
Of course, that was just warm up for this: (deep breath gents...ready?)
Originally posted by kamaboko bull shit. like it or not sammy sold millions of records w/those guys. no fucking disputing that. he helped VH tap into an audience they never had.
ok, that warm up was building to this smelly gem of a post, guaranteed to make you say the magic words: I'm goin' in.
Originally posted by kamaboko the fact is...if the RORHF didn't think sammy contributed to the success of VH, then they wouldn't have made him part of the VH induction. why do you think GS wasn't part of the ticket? he didn't contribute in a significant way (e.g., record sales). too many fucking heads in the sand here. for fucks sake, he was with the band 13 years. even if i don't care for the stuff he produced w/VH during that time, i won't deny him his just rewards. he still gets put on the ticket because he gave me a Cabo Chubbo:
During Hagar's tenure, the band established a musical formula that proved commercially successful in the United States. All four studio albums produced during this period reached #1 on the Billboard pop music charts. Also during this time, 17 singles breached the top 12 of the mainstream rock tracks chart. In addition, Van Halen was nominated for two Grammy Awards, winning the 1991 Best Hard Rock Performance with Vocal award for the album For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge.
Ok, let's bottom line this nauseating experience for our friends out there right here Ah say
This person has surmised that since mainstream accepted this incarnation, it is a valid incarnation.
(tossing aside the fact that the VH band who Invented a style of hard rock all their own with DLR, abandoned it for a calculated move towards making pop hits and John Cougar knockoffs for mainstream acceptance)
So the point of reference indicates "Other people embraced it, therefore I can too because it's valid"
or an interpretation might suggest "Tell me if it's good, so I can decide if it's good for me."
I don't mean to skewer the jury's viewpoint your honor(judge Vader presiding), but just to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt we have in our midst a......I can't hear you......
