My daughter came home from school with tickets to the Bush Victory '04 rally in Cincinnati. I asked her where she got them, and she said that her teacher gave them to her. I then asked her why her teacher would do this. She replied, " My friend told me she was going to see the president with her mommy, and I didn't believe her, so I asked my teacher. She said lots of people were going, and kids were allowed to wear their costumes, and the president is handing out candy." I told her that it would be boring for her, and that she would miss out on trick or treat, but she didn't care. She said, " Mommy was in George Washington's bedroom, I want to see a president too. "
I assured her that George Washington was dead many many years before mommy saw his bedroom ( that's a whole other story ), but still she insisted. I think it's cool that at her age she wants to see the president, so I'll be at Great American Ballpark with my wife and kids on halloween.
