    Halloween With Bush

My daughter came home from school with tickets to the Bush Victory '04 rally in Cincinnati. I asked her where she got them, and she said that her teacher gave them to her. I then asked her why her teacher would do this. She replied, " My friend told me she was going to see the president with her mommy, and I didn't believe her, so I asked my teacher. She said lots of people were going, and kids were allowed to wear their costumes, and the president is handing out candy." I told her that it would be boring for her, and that she would miss out on trick or treat, but she didn't care. She said, " Mommy was in George Washington's bedroom, I want to see a president too. "
I assured her that George Washington was dead many many years before mommy saw his bedroom ( that's a whole other story ), but still she insisted. I think it's cool that at her age she wants to see the president, so I'll be at Great American Ballpark with my wife and kids on halloween.

More like Anthrax, probably. I'm sure there's some left over from Operation Scare The Fuck Out Of Senate Democrats in 2001.

Nah, because they can't vote for the idiot. Though Rove might require them to swear that their parents are Busheep.

that's really cool! Make sure to take a camera with you so she'll always have that picture.

The kids don't care. For them it's like meeting a celebrity.

                    I hope she has fun!

Thanks Ally. We did take the camera. The kids had a great time. I would have taken them to see Clinton if they had asked four years ago. It's great that to a kid, it's "Wow! That's the president!" I'm glad she had that moment, because we all know how ugly it becomes when we grow up.

It was cool. There were about 50,000 to 60,000 people there. They played halloween music over the PA between speakers. They had booths set up for the kids to trick-or-treat. They gave the kids candy, pints of ice cream, and toys. There were hundreds of kids in costume running and playing on the field. They thought that it was way cool that they got to play on the CINCINNATI REDS' ball field.

Oh and FORD, you'll love this part. They cranked out Edgar Winter's FRANKENSTEIN over the PA just before Bush came on stage.

And JCOOK, I didn't see a single protestor or any other unruly individuals.:D
