I was just looking at the sub-title of this thread:

'Never Seen Before Tidal Wave Disrupts Earth's Rotation'

These kinds of things happen every 30 years or so. There was a tsunami in Hawaii in the 1940's that wiped out entire towns, there was one in 1964 after a 9.4 magnitude earthquake that basically erased Valdez, Alaska...there is sand deposit evidence in the Cascades that indicates tsunamis hundreds of feet tall from prehistoric times...

These things happen.

That is exactly right! because of the tilt of the Earth on its axis, the Sun's rays in the winter months have a tendancy to 'skip' off the Earth, kind of like a rock skipping on water. During the summer months, the rays make a more 'direct hit' and the heat gets absorbed...

Close, very close. The Southern Hemisphere is tilted more directly toward the Sun during the winter months and the Northern Hemisphere is tilted more directly toward the Sun during our summer months. You're correct, though, the Northern Hemisphere gets the indirect rays during this time of year, explaing the lack of heat. I took Astronomy as my Physics elective in college. Interesting stuff at the time but I've forgotten most of it.

I alerted once due to a violation of the "no cocks policy." I may be an asshole, but I am a hardcore Roth Army team player. Yeah, this is like my third or fourth alias (we all do that shit) but I get bored of the old ones. (I even killed one off like Lee Harvey Oswald! It was rad!) You can definitely get a sunburn, if you happen to get some bright sunlight, especially reflected off snow.

So technically a tan should be possible, except it's too damn cold .
