POP MUZIK in general is a tool of control, by major corporations. It's goal and motivation is some self-defeating concept of long-term sustainability and profit. Instead, I suspect the opposite has happened as music becomes more homogenized. The corporate whoring of radio and it's division into neat, safe genres' has sapped music of creativity and spawned a series of crappy bands in all musical genres'.
