The marines are in retreat, the whole of Iraq is going to be in uproar and you are clinging to a supposed reduction in terrorism.

Any reduction at the moment is more to do with Americans no longer funding the IRA and ETA being unwilling to continue an armed struggle after the train bombings.

This is not an isolated incident and in the minds of the Iraqis will confirm every rumor and propoganda going about the coalition troops.

Time to get out before things get even worse.

These people do not want a Western democracy, never have.

So a UK military investigation was supposed to take evidence provided a US officer as the gospel truth and not do anymore investigation?

Six UK soldiers are still being investigated regarding the incidents last year that were falsely attributed to Tim Collins.

If a US officer had been accused of such behaviour by a British officer you'd be going ballistic saying the British guy was talking complete nonsense.

As it turns out none of the US officers involved in the incidents at Abu Gharib have been court martialled, they've just been disciplined. So does that suggest your military justice system stinks? No, it just means your military justice works in a similar way to ours.

Perhaps, but by 'disciplined' is a broad term in US Military language, believe me. It'll be weeks, if not months, before the Court-Maritial proceedings convene on these people.
