I'm tired of it, so I think it's time for me to check out.

The last year or so has been interesting talking to you guys, but it is now just second grade.

I wish the best for you all in the future, I really do. Politics aside, you guys used to be cool. The best to you and your families .

I'll see ya down the road somewhere. Later.
Funny, but haven't you thrown in a bit of your own arrogant condescending in your posts?

I've seen a few personal digs from you Daddy Warbucks. So quite being such a babygirl...

      Well, that one's obvious.

What's the one thing in the Middle East more valuable than oil?

      Hint: It's a big desert.

Many believe that the recent fuckup in Lebanon was not really about "2 kidnapped Israeli soldiers" at all, but rather about who has a right to the water in the region. The main Israeli water supply is the Sea of Galilee, which isn't really a sea at all (fresh water) but a big lake. it also is fed by the Jordan River. And of course the Jordan also borders Lebanon, and the Lebanese water sources come from tributaries of the river.

Not really related to the topic of this thread at all, but an interesting sidebar in any event, as future wars in the Middle East may not be over oil or even religious differences, but water itself.

I lived in Israel and water is a resource that is deffinately fought over. The Sea of Galilee also has killer wind surfing. The Jordan river flows out of the Sea of Galilee though and runs down to the Dead Sea.

I've heard for years that Iran has the worlds youngest population and the majority of those people hate the Islamic extremists. I guess the problem is the Islamic extremists are bullies and scare the mass majority into keeping their mouths shut while they take power.

Not too long ago I saw an article (might have even been posted here) where they interviewed young Iranians on the street in Tehran about the Lebanon mess, Hezbollah, etc. Basically, they felt about the same about Iran wasting money on Hezbollah as most of us feel about the BCE wasting money on Iraq.

So just like here, it's a government that couldn't give a flying fuck what the people think. And that's another reason why it would be a HUGE mistake to go to war with Iran. Those people don't hate us now. But they sure as fuck will when their country looks like Iraq or Lebanon.

Earlier you guys were talking California and the automakers. The attorney general here recently filed a huge lawsuit against the 6 largest auto manufacturers for causing pollution and the money the state has spent cleaning it up. (Billions). Apparently, the lawsuit (nuisance) isn't even expected to do much except get the auto makers to agree to some stricter codes that they haven't implemented in CA yet. Kind of a weak way to go about it, but unfortunatly that's how the legal system works. Do this or we'll fuck you over that.

As for diesel. I rented a large moving truck recently and I'll tell you, it's kinda hard to find diesel stations anymore. In the late 70's/early 80's, it seemed much more common.

Makes sense. Water is more precious than gold. Even CA, AZ & NV fight over the Colorado River (What little is left of it). And Northern & Southern CA have been fighting for decades. Christ, the Colorado River is so used up and has so many dams, it dries up before reaching the Gulf of California.

gary hart's just trying to be considered relevant again.

there is zero chance the U.S. invades iran. we can argue whether or not the administration would like to attack iran. but there's no way that they believe it's technically feasible at this moment in time.

You only invade defenseless third world armies like Afghanistan and Iraq...

Iran would need tactical bombing missions......

Hey FORD is this the same as your last 'October Surprise' that never happened?

                        Gimme a fucking break.

You're getting like one of those 'psychics' that goes out to the audience with the line 'I'm getting the name John here, does anyone know someone called John that has died?'

Do it often enough and eventually you'll hit gold...

Sesh, if you read both articles again, you'll notice that I didn't make any predictions. Robert Mueller of the BCE predicted "terra" attacks in 2004, as a way to scare people into voting for the Chimp.

And here, it's Gary Hart making the prediction, not me. Though the way the BCE has been spinning anti-Iran rhetoric for months, the scenario does seem very likely. Gary Hart's done his homework on the national security shit, and he's personally familiar with what the BCE will do to win an election. After all, this is the guy who should have been President in 1988.

and lounge, yes, no bombing either.

the only justification we would have for bombing would be to stop iran's WMD program. now, there might be reasonable evidence, but it won't be certain enough for us to attack. not after iraq.

the rest of the world (and particularly the arab world) was ok with us attacking afghanistan, even though the taliban was a muslim government. that was ok because the U.S. was responding to an attack that was more or less directly linked to the afghanistan government.

the world (and especially the arab world) was not as keen on us attacking iraq. but saddam's government was certainly no muslim government. so there was grumbling but they ultimately accepted it.

iran's government, however bad and oppressive, is clearly a muslim government. an attack on iran will be seen, unequivocably as an attack on islam.

and, is the U.S. ready to attack a middle east country, claiming that it has or is trying to get WMD, again?

no, we will alienate damn near most of the world. and we will definitely galvanize the muslim world against us.

nope, there is no chance we attack iran.

Exactly. And the fact that Donna Rice is now an "anti-porn crusader" for the Religious Reich makes me wonder if she wasn't playing on that team all along. Or should I say, "Which monkey - or monkey's dad - was behind the monkey business" ?
