Go back and look at what I said.

50% of the population [genotype Hh] could express as heterosexual, bisexual, or gay.

Genotype-wise, they have one "straight" gene, H, and one "gay" gene, h.

Here is where "choice" comes in. These particular people chose how they want to behave.

However, the HH [2 "straight" genes] and hh [2 "gay" genes] people express their phenotype [visible behavior] as their genotype [genetics] dictates.

So, basically, this Reverand Ted character probably has the Hh genotype, I suspect.

simply because there are 2 genes doesn't necessarily mean that it's equally as likely that either one occurs, right?


assuming that the incidence of the "h" gene was 10% (i'm picking a random number instead of 50%), then you'd have an 81% likelihood of being HH (0.9*0.9). you'd have an 18% chance of having being Hh (or hH) ((0.9*0.1)+(0.1*0.9)), and you'd have a 1% chance of having hh (0.1*0.1).


now, i have no idea whether or not the Hh theory is correct. but if it is, while i also have no imperical evidence, i really can't believe that at least 25% of the population would have hh.

therefore, assuming the Hh theory is right, i'd have to think the h gene was less likely to occur than the H gene.

Anything can happen in the human body, so the statistics are at best a theory.

But it's a better theory than someone saying, "God doesn't create gay people."
