RAW STORY: Senator Vitter admits number on 'DC Madam' phone records

I love hookers! But God forgives me.

    Josh Catone
    Published: Monday July 9, 2007

First term Senator David Vitter (R-LA) admitted Monday night that his phone number was on the phone records of the so-called "DC Madam."

"This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible," said Vitter in a statement. "Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there-with God and them..." (How convenient!)

    ...

In 2004, Vitter campaigned with a promise of "protecting the sanctity of marriage," and was a co-author of the "Federal Marriage Act" that sought to prohibit courts from interpreting same-sex marriage laws. (Of course he did!)

Kinda takes all the wind out of impeaching Clint---ah Vitter.

I mean with the face of honesty, in the room of overwhelming evidence.

Some of the biggest liars in the world are religiouse people because they really aren't religiouse. They put on the show because they use the religion as a tool to get what they want. Votes, money, family inheritance, jobs, ect...

Yeah, but using religion as a tool is only limited to conservatives.

That being said, we've all made mistakes and committed transgressions to our highest moral aspirations. The important thing is what learning from the mistake, learning the lesson from it, and also appreciating that our own infallibility should show that there are definitely limits to how we each interpret what constitutes a transgression.

Murder and wife-beating? Sure, we should all judge those people for the scumbags they are. Two consenting adults who wish to marry but can't b/c they're both the same gender? Seems to me that that's far more moral and righteous than cheating on your wife with a hooker.

C'mon man. How 'bout an on topic post? What do you feel about "moralists" that think only heterosexuals have the right to make a mockery of marriage by screwing whores?

I'll use the argument from your camp..."it was only sex and is nobody else's business." Isn't that the line "you all" use? Huh?

Does that include the highest elected official in the land getting a slobbery-knobber from one of his employees... on government time... in a government office...does that count?

Not when the perpetrator is a fucking phony-balony hypocrite bastard callously using religion for personal gain and power...

I don't ever recall Clinton telling people what they can can't do in their bedrooms...

Actually, i have in fact gone on record and said that Clinton's perjury deserved and merited the scrutiny it got, and my disappointment with his "what is the definition of "is"?" argument. I expect and demand better from the most powerful person in the world.

Sex between two consenting adults is one thing, paying a prostitute for sex is another. Even you should be able to tell the difference.

Of course you are gonna get all "but Clinton" about this. That rusty little jukebox in your head spins that record as often as possible.

Who said that this was a partisan issue? Please try to pay attention.

"...but, but...BUTT.." It's even under your avatar!
