One problem with words and writing is they don't convey sarcasm very well. Reading about what went on makes it so much more than actually went on.

I just wonder if Ted Knows many of his Republican buddies get their salad tossed by other men in the Bohemian Grove. The Bohemian Club should invite ted to the Cremation of Care sometime and give him a young boy whore.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

I never heard about that .
That does qualify him for draft dodger status.
If he didn't agree with the war he should have stood up like a man and said so.
Some called Ali a draft dodger , but I have more respect for a man that stands up and says Hell no ,I won't go than a guy who would do something like that.
I would even prefer a person who ran off to Canada to someone who would pull that kind of shit and later brag about it.

I can't find the exact quote, but he basically dared the President to come to North Carolina without a Secret Service detail, with the implication that he wouldn't be leaving alive.

            Shit...I remember that.

Did some digging and found the following snippet from a TIME magazine article - December 1994:

At first Bill Clinton knew exactly what he wanted to do after learning that North Carolina Senator Jesse Helms had told a Raleigh newspaper that the President "better have a bodyguard" if he ever visited his state. "I'm ready to go to North Carolina right now," an angry Clinton informed White House chief of staff Leon Panetta, who brought him the news last Tuesday.

Just imagine what would happen if a Muslim with Arabian roots said something like that aimed at prominent republican politicians. He´d find himself in Guantanamo even if he was born American and had lived in the USA all of his life!

The age old fact that musicians should not dabble in politics. They are there to entertain us and give us music, not to interfere with other people's jobs. At the end of the day being an MP is a job and they have to deal with the issues, dabbling in weak politics is a musician's hobby and they probably know nothing. In fact, there's probably more to something than people realise. Apart from Bush who's just a monkey-moron. Has he got Resus blood? Tee hee hee........

Anyway, good examples of berks going dabbling with fire is John Lennon and Yoko Ono. I saw an interview with him and the ministry of defence while he was doing that bed thing (oh yes very productive, sitting on a bed for peace instead of having an intelligent debate with the PM or something) and John knew nothing. He was just coming out with BS and was totally out of it, man. Other examples are Geldof and his attitude, LiveAid okay may have been good but the other stuff he's done is utter crap. LiveAid DID something, Live8 gave a concert. He also told kids to bunk out of school to get involved with something they would never understand. And Bono. If you're going to dabble in politics then don't become a musician because we're not interested. While Ted is good live he did go on at Monsters of Rock about our alliance in the Iraq war and I'm like, great, starts going downhill from there. He's a loon and used to scare me as a child. *^_^* lml

The only useful political action that a musician ever did was when Frank Zappa fought censorship.

While it's a stupid comment for sure, it's a far cry from threatening Clinton's life on the Senate floor.

OK, so I was mistaken about him being on the Senate floor when he said it. It was 13 years ago.

And not that Jesse didn't say a bunch of other stupid shit on the Senate floor.

It all depends. If the war is started by the industrial military complex to make money and was started with lies (Gulf of Tonken and Weapons of Mass Destruction), it has nothing to do about fighting for your home and family.

Running off when your family, home, and way of life is threatened is clearly being a coward. It all depends on what we are fighting for.

I'm convinced we would be spitting on soldiers again if there was a draft. It would be the 1960's and 70's again. Because the people fighting are so called volunteers the masses of asses just go, "Oh well, they signed up".

Back in the days when I was a stockbroker whore I remember we spent a whole days worth of training on how to be Mr. Nuetral. Avoid politics and religion at all costs! If its brought up change the subject in a hurry. We are here to sell securities and equities, not to ruin a sale because we got pulled into a political conversation.

Of course the company I worked for was a Bilderberg opperation and what better to tell us. Keep you mouth shut and do what we say and be a good Nazi. LOL! I hated working in the corporate world where they invade your privae life. Pepsico will fucking fire your ass if they find out you had a Coke at Wendy's. It's in the employee contracts. These bastards try and invade their employees private lives where you can lose your job if you belong to certain club and yadda yadda yadda.

Now I usually don't talk politics to my customers and clients. It's best not to but I'm not going to be a political passivest because my employer may fire me or it may hurt a sale. Fuck that, if you don't like me then don't buy from me. I have my enemies. Anyone who stands for anything does.

                          Fuck Mr. Neutral!

Let me clarify my statement .
I agree running away was cowardly.
But I think he should have voiced his disagreement with the war like Ali instead of handling the situation like that .
Running because you are afraid to die sounds sane to me.
I am a vet , but as a teenager facing possibly being drafted if the war continued scared the shit out of me.
I was 21 when i joined and had enjoyed some adult life.
But if they had drafted me at 18 ,I might have ran too.
I would never disrespect the troops who sacrificed so much wether it was a just cause or not.
If the situation was the same as WW2 , I would have dropped out of school to get them fuckers.
Teds actions considering his political views now were completely out of line.

I am not convinced the WMDs thing was a lie .
                                Hillary thought they had them,too
Sadaam used chemical weapons on the Kurds .
The WMDs could have been moved or buried shortly before we invaded.
It is possible the russians had assisted considering we found all thoe chemical warfare suits they supplied to Iraq in clear violation of UN sanctions.
