well, again, technically we're paying off the debt. our "debt" payments are not 100% entirely interest. it's a repayment on the bonds. you buy a 25 year treasury bond and they'll have repaid you by the end of the 25 years. but yes, i was kinda splitting hairs for the hell of it. (but also to somewhat satirically point out that even under the most favorable circumstances, the VAST majority of the war is still being financed on future payments...)

dude, i was actually backing you on this. :D i was just trying to say that decades of payments (which is how long it will take us to pay off the individual debt bonds we're selling) will be needed. you were OBVIOUSLY right that we'll be paying off for years, but i was trying to point out that "years" might mean 8 or 9. whereas the current war debt we are accumulating will take at least 2 decades/20 years to pay off.
