Besides the Poncho and Lefty reference, that's the first time I threw it out. Pay attention. I know it's hard keeping track of who's calling you a racist jackass at any given time, but c'mon...
First of all, there's no such thing as "overeducated", but let's get past that. And for the record, I grew up in a town where I got teased for completing high school... is it my fault I read a fucking book once in awhile?
Ironically, you sound disturbingly like them at times... here's an idea: instead of me moving to Chicago (as you suggested in a similar ramble), how 'bout YOU move to Appalachia?

I'm highly qualified in what I do, yes. I've successfully transitioned between industries in the past, and yeah, I have the resume to prove it. Sorry if you don't. The company I work for is doing OK (not great, but still okay), thankfully.

Not bragging, but did get another offer right before this last downturn; weighed the options - same money, longer commute, no regular model-hottie influx....stayed put. I like stability, turns out.

But again, what are you doing where you're specifically concerned with being replaced by Illegal Immigrants, as you've mentioned previously? Warehouse labor? Seriously. You can apparently type, what (besides your racist shtick, which would be a deal-killer on any interview) would preclude you from some sort of more shall we say, insulated office-type gig?

Surely though the fact that she was the most incompetent idiot candidate in the history of Western democracies is less than good for the future of womens representation?

She was so incredibly appallingly stupid that SNL just put someone up that looked like her and said verbatim what she said and people rolled about on the floor laughing.

That's fucked up and an example of positive discrimination (in this case to try and get woman voters) going horribly horribly wrong.

I said she was polarizing, as is Hillary. Odds are likely (altho not definate) if you didn't like the one, you leaned towards the other. And even if you hated Palin and saw her as a joke, it was an opportunity for another broad to go, "what the fuck? I can do that better with my eyes close" and start off on a mission.

I don't want to say anger, but sometimes that whole type of scenario can inspire something stronger.

And since there were two in the playing field, I don't think one being viewed in such a light could have done as much damage as if it was just one by herself.

There were many times with McCain's team, as well as when Giuliani was going for the nom, that I wondered what the hell was going on. It was as if they were trying to screw up on purpose.

McCain went from being the chill "cool" Republican on the Daily Show to this stiff, boring,unattached canidate. I could understand a toned-down version when he was trying to win over his own party, but when he went national I was waiting for the McCain we would see joking with Stewart to come back. He might have had a bit more fight if he did. I don't think he would have won because the buzz surrounding Obama was too high, but it could have at least been a respectable fight. Instead, they focused on holding the farther out conservatives, who -- let's be honest -- weren't going to vote for Obama or Ron Paul or a write-in. They would vote party line because it's what those fringers do. And they would have voted because they're hardasses like that.

I swear, it's like they went, "yeah. Obama's got it. Why bother?"

The Palin chapter I could see immediately was an answer to pandering to the black and the disadvantaged to stem the bleeding such as in Pennsylvania and Ohio swinging over to the Dark Side.

The Governator decreed shorter day-weeks to trim 7 percent of legislators payroll for not passing a budget, and this morning what the Dems did is force the state accountant to deny this saying as governor he has no authority over budget.

That is how this state got so fucked up: the crystal hippies got into government after Governor Moonbeam Jerry Brown made it thru a few terms of failure it let open the floodgates for all the other liberal kooks and it never balanced out.
