I guess living in areas that you can actually see the effects of pollution with your own eyes gives me a different perspective on the whole thing.

Detroit, Long Beach, Washington State and even here in Manitou, CO. You see the effects of decades of abuse to the surroundings. Hell, there's areas here in Manitou that you can still see the effects of strip mining and it stopped decades ago.

Toxic dumping is quite a bit different than CO2!

Same here, and I grew up in an area with multiple chemical plants known locally as the "Chemical Valley" but when I go to visit the air still seems cleaner and easier to breathe than your average day in LA...

Yes, chemical plants need to be enforced to be clean. Toxic waste is toxic. Littering is bad. There are countless examples of pollution that needs to be cleaned up. CO2 IS NOT ONE OF THEM!

          It's a LIE!

And that crap you're breating has nothing to do with CARBON DIOXIDE!

The air in the most beautiful mountains in Colorado has the exact same level of CARBON DIOXIDE as LA!

E, I am not even debating Global Warming anymore.....you either believe what 90% of the scientist say or you don't....it's too much of an emotional debate, it seems. Like dogging on someone's religion...no matter how many facts or inconsistencies you point out, you're never gonna change their opinions.

The point I have been trying to make in these threads is that it's time to stop polluting and destroying this Earth. Fuck Global Warming....I'd like to kick the motherfucker that coined that fucking phrase. It really hurts the cause of anti-pollution. It's too big of a concept for the average Joe to even comprehend, so people just refuse to even consider it.

Both sides of the debate are fucking hypocrites. Jon Stewart pointed out that they had to import limos from Germany to The Copenhagen climate change conference, so that each person could arrive in their own limo......

WTF is that? It's like serving hamburgers at an international vegan conference!

Wha? Where in Colorado???? The air quality is the same as LA?

No, the air in LA is bad, but it's not due to CO2!

It doesn't matter what caused the air quality to be so bad...it matters that it is bad and needs to be cleaned up, period.

                      YES IT MATTERS!

The LA air quality is caused by temperature, geography, noxious gas, sulfer, acid and various other pollutants, NOT CO2!

Here lies the lie and the deception. How has CO2 suddenly been blaimed to be causing so much trouble that we are going to be forced to be PAYING TAXES on our "carbon footprint?"

I'm confused. I thought the only way in which CO2 could harm people is if they were in a confined space and were re-breathing each other's air, without fresh air being introduced to the vacuum. For this to take place outdoors, you'd need to have some catastrophe (like a volcano blowing up) take place to screw up the breathable air. If that's the case (and it wouldn't be the first time I forgot stuff from high school, some thirty years ago), how can CO2 be harmful or blamed for it's toxicity?
