Maybe you should take some time and study US history... focus on the structure of the 3 federal branches and the boundries created between state and federal government.

That's the beauty of it all... we've never been one government... more of a union of republics and governing bodies with checks and balances all over the place.

Surprises me so few people pay attention to this complex power arrangement thinking we're all one entity when in fact our very name spells it out... United States. Currently 50 governments plus territories represented by 3 executive offices as a whole.

Until you can understand what we really have here... you won't undertand how it all works. Pay fucking attention...

You have checks and balances when the separate branches of government are accountable to the people. Once they take the people out of the loop they just do their own thing and run over the US Constitution at will. It all goes back to the Constitution because that governs the whole process and once that is flanked or ignored you have a chaotic situation.

There's too many government agencies with unchecked power and the executive branch was basically made a dictatorship thank's to Harry Truman signing the National Security Act and following president's with Bush being the most famous for increasing his powers.
